Shahid-E-Azam

Shahid-E-Azam magnify
Although its quite late now, but that doesn't take anything away from his sacrifices and valour he had shown 75 years back. So, I am happy and take pride in saying that I remebered him on 23rd march morning itself. I thought for this blog actually last week only, but somehow (I love this word...distracts your attention and solves my purpose ;-) ) couldn't make it.

In most contexts when talking about a hero of past, it usually has heartening effect when it is said that his/her vision is still very much applicable even after so many years. As you might have guessed, I was just thinking that contrary to this, how dishearteining it is that Shaheed Bhagat Singh's ideology is still very much applicable in today's Bharat. There is nothing wrong in understanding anybody's ideology, however, motivation behind it should be knowledge and not need even after 75 years. Laugh or cry, but the fact is multiplied, then it was the need of 37 crore, today more than 100 crores need it. This could be precisely, but not the only, reason for facing this fact of today. There were chain of events, which I think were responsible for this ideology being locked into a ignored box. The mass-influence before and power after independence, was shared by those, who were too busy establishing themselves in history books as heroes of struggle. It was conveniently thought by them that there is no need for us, the coming generations, to know the effect that 2nd world war has in liberating all the colonies, worldwide. Let's not digress anyway and give undue attention to spoilers, but praise who were never afraid to lay themseleves to rest to see others dancing in joy of freedom. Seldom though, we understand that we are not enjoying the freedom, those shaheeds wanted us to.

If there were such incomparable souls then there were others too, who remained outstandingly inspirational by following the same fate for the same cause. Shaheed Sukhdev and Shaheed Rajguru, were the ones who lightened the flame stonger, by following an idea which was someone else's and shared the highest honour.

I read few days back that grand nephew of Shaheed Bhagat Singh is going to take out books/CDs having original pages from the book he wrote, while he was in jail. It would be interesting to get an insight into the mind, which was not bothered of, what to wear next day in office, instead, was capable of capturing attention till date.

Captive mind of mine, remains in captivity.....
